Online payments

The BNA are a wonderful organisation, that’s been running for over a century. We migrated their archives from the venerable static website that had served them well for over a decade, to a customised multisite WordPress.

The new website has:

• A network of 10 “sub-sites” for BNA’s regional branches, each of which have their own design and content, user profiles and logins
• Events listings and registration
• Online membership subscriptions and renewal
• Private area for members enabling access to exclusive archived content and resources
• Online shop

We worked within BNA’s limited budget to prioritise functionality in order to move some of their key workflow around events and membership online, and worked closely with BNA to skill up their staff on the new system, which we launched in February 2019. Using a free WordPress theme enabled us to display the BNA branding in their new online home without using a dedicated graphic designer, we expect that the next phase will involve unlocking some other WordPress functions to extend the site’s functionality.

We launched the new Progressio site for their 75th anniversary in Spring 2015, it's a custom coded responsive theme on Drupal 7.
We brought all Progressio's content over from their old Drupal 6 site, and wrapped it in an on-brand redesign, we worked closely with their fundraising and comms teams to refine the calls to action and user journeys, and to showcase their great photos, blogs and other content and integrate their social channels.

The International Cooperative Association asked us to build a registration site for their 2015 conference in Turkey.
We created new site based on the design and structure for the previous year's event, and added a sophisticated CiviCRM installation that enables ICA staff to access and manipulate data about registrations. The site accepts secure payments via a third party payments processor and performs a number of advanced custom functions including group registrations, and generation of a variety of different reports and email updates.

We built The Electronic Immigration Network (EIN) website in 2002 on our own CMS, ActionApps, and it has become an indispensable resource for anyone concerned with immigration law in the UK; legal practitioners, researchers, journalists, judges, academics and policy makers.

We've carried out several major updates to the site over the years, including rebuilding it in 2011 to take advantage of Drupal's powerful search functionality. The site now houses over 200,000 documents comprising several complex dynamically updated databases of legal material in areas such as legislation, case law reports, country reports and online legal resources.

The site uses membership management systems and secure access, and allows subscribers to avoid information overload by using an innovative bundle-maker which enables them to file documents or excerpts in personal online "bundles" as they browse the site.

This year we have implemented a responsive design, bringing the site design right up to date and making it compatible with the huge variety of devices and screen sizes used to browse the web these days.

We made the initial connection with the Quakers through the Drupal for NGOs monthly gatherings. They’d been struggling for the last few years with a custom built CMS that was proving too inflexible to cope with new requirements. So they were looking for a new site that could take on all the content from the old site and provide the tools to make their online space a much more functional site for the various parts of the British Quaker community to connect with one another and their common resources. At the same time they needed to make sure that the new site wouldn’t leave people disorientated and confused by any change in platform.
We used Drupal to build the site and wrote a custom script to automatically transfer over 2000 pages of the old site into the new database. We then worked with the Quakers to take them through the new approach to content management so that they could sift through and reorganise the imported data. The new system has also been carefully setup to redirect anyone using an old URL to the correct document on the new site.

This ambitious project was set up to integrate the Woodcraft Folk's in-office membership administration system with their public facing website. The idea was to build a very modern system to underpin a site that supports Woodcraft kids, parents and office staff, without losing the special creative spirit and energy of the Folk that has endured since its inception nearly 100 years ago.

The project kicked off with a workshop that brought together a range of Woodcraft people who collaboratively set out the site's priorities and challenges.That culminated in a comprehensive plan for the site and the database backend. Plans evolved into page mockups, wireframes and production sites, which were presented, discussed and tested by the Woodcraft Folk.

The result is a beautiful website (with page designs by Sarah Macbeth for wave design) which skillfully makes space for Woodcraft children to speak and show for themselves. And the cool funky tools like the online membership renewal, the guided search, the filterable calendar and interactive maps have found a wonderfully comfortable co-existence with the camping, peace building and cooperative spirit.

The Woodcraft Folk use CiviCRM to manage their membership, GreenNet has supported  them to customise and develop their CRM system since 2009.
