PBI Germany

We migrated the Germany Country Group of Peace Brigades International's website from it's old home on Typo3 CMS to a shiny new responsive Drupal 7.

We did a complete rethink of the design and templates and came up with a site that enables PBI to customise their homepage with their latest calls to action and automatically displays updated listings of news and activities

The new site reflects PBI's identity and demonstrates their impact by showcasing stories and images from their archives, and displays an interactive map to show PBI's global projects.

We launched the new Progressio site for their 75th anniversary in Spring 2015, it's a custom coded responsive theme on Drupal 7.
We brought all Progressio's content over from their old Drupal 6 site, and wrapped it in an on-brand redesign, we worked closely with their fundraising and comms teams to refine the calls to action and user journeys, and to showcase their great photos, blogs and other content and integrate their social channels.

Open Doors

The challenge of doing sexual health outreach work in East London has been transformed by police action in the run up to the Olympics. This was the unusual starting point for the Open Doors Sexual Health Clinic's request for a new website.

The Open Doors team of nurses has for years relied on its knowledge of East London brothels to provide critical sexual health advice, checkups and free condoms. Now that the police were closing them down in the run up to the 2012 Olympics, the nurses needed to find an alternative route to continuing to provide healthcare to sexworkers.

So our task was to build a website that could speak clearly to east London sexworkers with the sorts of advice that the nurses used to provide on visits. At the same time it also needed to fill the gap of getting women to come in for check-ups.

On the advice and information front, we used our well-versed processes to tease out a clear structure for all leaflet content produced by Open Doors. We comissioned illustrator Jackie Parsons to create custom artwork for the site. And on the check-ups front we integrated a simple online form into the fabric of every webpage, encouraging users to get in touch.

With the inclusion of a new Twitter feed on the side, the nurses now also have an additional way of updating the site and reaching followers via their mobiles. Finally Open Doors gold-plated the site by commissioning translations of all the content on all the pages into Portuguese, Romanian, Polish and Chinese.

Friends House update

We launched the new Friends House site in Summer 2015 for the UK Quakers, adapting the successful design for their TheLightatEuston with Friends House branding on an upgraded CMS.

The spec was to rebuild their old drupal 6 site with a radically different look and feel using a mobile-first methodology to apply a fully responsive theme that's optimised to display on tablets and mobiles. Working closely with Friends House staff, we've developed the site by adding custom modules and functions so the site can utilise cutting edge SEO techniques and social media integration.

We built the new site for ERT in 2015, in a responsive themed Drupal 7.

Their priority was to improve the accessibility of their Virtual Library on Equality, by making it display elegantly and correctly regardless of the size of screen or type of device used by visitors, and adding a powerful suite of facetted and advanced searches. We worked closely with ERT to design and configure the library and to migrate the contents from their previous CMS and to reinvigorate ERT's online presence using maps and bold imagaery in a custom design based on their brand.

The International Cooperative Association asked us to build a registration site for their 2015 conference in Turkey.
We created new site based on the design and structure for the previous year's event, and added a sophisticated CiviCRM installation that enables ICA staff to access and manipulate data about registrations. The site accepts secure payments via a third party payments processor and performs a number of advanced custom functions including group registrations, and generation of a variety of different reports and email updates.

European Database of Asylum Law

EDAL - the European Database of Asylum Law is an online database containing case law from 17 EU Member States interpreting refugee and asylum law.

This legal database project was made possible by a European Union grant to the Irish Refugee Council, and is now run by the European Council on Refugees and Exiles ECRE.

The idea was to create a central searchable archive of immigration case law summaries from 11 EU member  states which would allow for useful comparisons of cases across the countries according to a set of priority issues and provisions.

At its simplest the site provides a powerful search through hundreds of legal case law records. But for researchers who are engaged in comparative study there are numerous cross referencing features that allow you to check legal provisions and how they've been cited and made applicable across the member states.

The site also is also features multi-lingual content publishing for untranslated source content, a pdf converter tool for creating pdfs out of case law summaries, and a responsive design for accessing the site on mobile devices.

Electronic Immigration Network (EIN)

We built The Electronic Immigration Network (EIN) website in 2002 on our own CMS, ActionApps, and it has become an indispensable resource for anyone concerned with immigration law in the UK; legal practitioners, researchers, journalists, judges, academics and policy makers.

We've carried out several major updates to the site over the years, including rebuilding it in 2011 to take advantage of Drupal's powerful search functionality. The site now houses over 200,000 documents comprising several complex dynamically updated databases of legal material in areas such as legislation, case law reports, country reports and online legal resources.

The site uses membership management systems and secure access, and allows subscribers to avoid information overload by using an innovative bundle-maker which enables them to file documents or excerpts in personal online "bundles" as they browse the site.

This year we have implemented a responsive design, bringing the site design right up to date and making it compatible with the huge variety of devices and screen sizes used to browse the web these days.
